A fabulous large Victorian Pennsylvania German handmade dancing lady in an archway. The tinsel surround is sewn onto a cardboard backing. The lovely lady is printed on a heavy stock paper and she is surrounded by paper lace which is missing in some areas but overall still looks very good. The archway is a purple foiled paper and is decorated all around with silver dresden stars. An unusual and rare ornament.

A fantastic large Victorian Pennsylvania German homemade dresden gates of heaven ornament. The embossed gold dresden paper is sewn onto a cardboard backing and edged with tinsel. It has a star with an embossed dove hanging from the top of the archway. There are embossed flying angels, another lovely bird, silver dresden birds, floral scraps and dresden rosettes. The gates can be opened if desired. The gates also have applied embossed dresden paper. There are a couple of minor flaws and reinforcements on the back but it is very stable. There is written 1865 at the top of the archway on the back. I can not be sure if that is when this ornament was made. I am always conservative and say these types of pieces are from the 1880's but it is possible this is an earlier piece. Wonderful!! Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.
