GREAT CARVED EAGLE WITH BANNER

A great carved eagle with the banner saying, "Don't Give Up The Ship". The original paint is missing in spots, revealing the underlying base of white gesso. These areas are not very noticeable when the piece is hanging on the wall and certainly do not detract. There is a 3/4" dent on the shield, otherwise, there are no repairs and no missing pieces. This realistic style of carving is executed beautifully and this piece is an asset to any folk art collection. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

UNUSUAL MACRAME SAILOR'S VALENTINE

A difficult to find macrame sailor's valentine in patriotic red, white and blue yarns. One side has a mirror ant the other a black and white illustration of a figure of royalty on an elaborately dressed horse. A few missing red yarns and wear on the mirrored side at the bottom of the heart, otherwise a great piece in excellent condition. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

WONDERFUL BLONDE PAPER MACHE HEAD DOLL IN ORIGINAL DRESS

A wonderful and large paper mache head doll in very good condition. She has an open mouth and set in blue glass eyes. Her body is cloth and her hands and feet are composition which are in good to fair condition. Her wig is blonde mohair and original. Her shoes are black leather and her dress is original which is a bit worn in some areas. She was well loved. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

GREAT PAIR OF SHOENHUT PINN DOLLS

A great pair of rare Shoenhut Pinn dolls in their original clothes. Their bodies, arms, legs and heads are made of wood. They are moveable at the neck, shoulder, knees and feet. Their charming hand painted smiling faces are topped off with red yarn hair for the lady and gray yarn hair and goutee for the gentleman. Their clothes are a bit faded but not torn. There is a stain on the lower part of her dress and their faces are a little dirty. This wonderful pair of rare dolls have been handled by loving little hands for many years and are still in very good shape. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

LOVELY PAPER MACHE HEAD DOLL

A very nice and early paper mache head doll with a kid body. Some minor touch-up on the face and hair. Unmarked. Additional photo is attached by the magnifying glass icon.

RED RIDING HOOD WITH BASKET

A charming Armand Marseille red riding hood doll in excellent condition. Her head is bisque with an open mouth and teeth. Her body is composition with long stick legs. Her hands and feet are composition and they have been repainted. She has sleeping eyes which are in good working order. She has a lovely patina. Her wig, dress and cape are new. She is marked 390 AM A4M Made in Germany. Included is a wicker picnic basket that is filled with toy bread, pie and fruits and veggies. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

SMALL BISQUE DOLL

A lovely Armand Marseille doll in excellent condition. Her head is bisque with an open mouth and painted teeth. Her hands and feet are bisque and her feet are painted. Her body is cloth and she has set in brown glass eyes. Her brown wig is new. She is marked A&M Betts DRGM which is an unusual mark for Armand Marseille. ORIGINAL RED PAINTED HAT BOX

An original red painted hat box made of poplar wood. It is held together by caned stitching. The color is clean and wonderful. The interior paper is loose in areas but still retains its bright color. The carrying rope appears to be original. There is some minor paint wear, otherwise, it is in excellent condition. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

GREAT VERY EARLY DARK GREEN GLASS WINE BOTTLE

A beautiful 18th century wine bottle in a dark olive green color. There are many bubbles in the hand blown glass. There are numerous abrasions, but no cracks or chips. There are two pops on the neck. The pronounced kick is 2" in depth. overall, in excellent condition. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

RARE COLONIAL NOTE

SOLD

A rare continental note for thirty Spanish milled dollars or value thereof, in gold or silver according to a resolution passed by Congress in Philadelphia, Sept. 26, 1778. There is a 1/8" barely visible tear. The note is well centered with a border all around. Printed by Hall and Sellers.

It has mica flakes, blue threads and leaf imprints, methods devised by Ben Franklin to thwart British forgeries. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.
