RARE REVERSE GLASS PAINTED CHECKERBOARD

This is a rare reverse glass painted checkerboard with shades of green in a log cabin design pattern and white painted squares. The white paint has some areas of chipping. The border is painted burgundy red. The frame has an original gesso and grain painted surface which has darkened with age. The frame shows its age with some paint, corner wear and edge damage. AMBER SHAKER HAIR RESTORER BOTTLE

An amber glass Shaker bottle. It says Shaker on one side and Hair Restorer on the other side. There is a broken out piece at the base that measures 1/2" x 3/8" There is also one 1/8" chip and one smaller than that. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

OLD PAINT DECORATED WATER WELL PUMP

A wooden outside water well pump with old paint decoration. The stenciled maker and city is not quite legible but looks like Indiana. There is a painted blue test stripe on the front. GREAT EARLY TINSEL PAINTING OF FLOWER BASKET

A great early tinsel painting of a flower basket. Tinsel painting is considered schoolgirl art and was popular in the mid to late 19th century. It is reverse glass painting with designs backed with foil to give it a shiny effect. The flower basket has wonderful colors in its original frame. The bottom left corner tip of the glass is broken but attached. The back has an old newspaper article that talks about the uses of sarsparilla and mentions Mrs. Lincoln and dates 1862. BLUE PRESSED GLASS CRUET AND CONDIMENT SET

Blue pressed glass condiment set comprising a salt and pepper and vinegar bottle. When examined with a magnifying glass, many nicks and small chips from use can be seen. These are otherwise not noticeable. However, noticeable is a chip at the top of the stopper and chipping to the inside rim of the base holder. There is minor rust damage to the bottom edge of the pepper pot lid. A beautiful and unusual form. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.

BRASS WORLD WAR 1 COMPASS

This is a functioning World War 1 brass compass with U.S. stamped on the case. The case has wear and discoloration from oxidation. There is a one inch long dent on the back of th case. The transit lock does not work. The face and glass are in good condition. Manufactured by the Waltham Watch Company of Waltham, Mass. Additional photos are attached by the magnifying glass icon.
